LLC "UMMC-Steel" manages UMMC's assets of 11 enterprises ferrous metallurgy.
Construction of a new metallurgical plant began on the basis of a cooperation agreement between "UMMC-Holding" and the Administration of the Tyumen Region, signed in 2005 by General Director Andrey Kozitsyn and Governor of the Tyumen Region Sergey Sobyanin.
In June 2013, the technological launch of the Tyumen plant took place, the task arose of determining the blot assortment, taking into account the current demand.
At the end of 2013,Industrial Information Agency commissioned UMMC-Steel to conduct a study of the round steel market in bars and coils. The study contained the needs and contact details of target consumers in the nearest regions.
The results of the report made it possible to clarify the production program at the newly created electrometallurgical plant and promptly start negotiations with rolled metal buyers.
From month to month, the output of rolled products grew, increasing from 110 thousand tons in the 1st half of 2014 to 218 thousand tons in the same period of 2015, which amounted to over 80% of the design capacity of the plant.
