RESEARCH ANNOUNCEMENT
Due to the global financial and economic crisis, experts were forced to adjust their forecasts for the development of the solar energy market. So, until 2008, the annual growth of the installed capacities of solar photovoltaic systems in the world was up to 55% per year.
According to preliminary market size data for 2009, the total solar module production capacity was 7.9 GW, showing signs of slowing growth to 30%. Among the reasons for the contraction of the market are overproduction (in 2008, supply exceeded demand by 102%, and in 2009 it exceeded by 168%) and the global economic crisis, which forced governments of various countries to refuse to invest in new projects.
According to market researchers, after 2010 the situation in the solar battery market will change. In 2011, revenue growth will be 58% compared to 2010. A similar figure will be achieved in 2012 and 2013. Analysts believe that after 2012 government support will no longer be so important due to a significant reduction in production costs and a high percentage of return on investment in the industry.
