Research and design institutes are important sources of information:
- when determining the technologies used in enterprises,
- to obtain information about production capacities and consumption coefficients in the production of various products,
- for the selection of experts in the studied market,
- to obtain project documentation, drawings, diagrams and plans for the location of enterprises.
A significant difficulty is the storage of most information in institutes on paper and the lack of a system for transferring or preserving the knowledge of older generation specialists.
