Construction of a plant for the production of lysine

Evonik Industries – an international industrial group of companies from Germany, a world leader in the research and production of specialty chemicals.

In 2012, before starting the construction of a plant in Russia, Evonik commissioned the Industrial Information Agency to study the Russian market for lysine, the most important feed additive. The results of the study helped determine the optimal capacity of the plant and solve a number of other problems.

On June 26, 2013, in Volgodonsk, the first stone was laid for the construction of a complex for deep processing of grain and the production of amino acids. The project is being implemented by Donbiotech LLC. - joint venture of GK "Russian Agro-Industrial Trust" and Evonik Industries. Under the project worth 170 million euros, it is planned to produce 85 thousand tons of lysine, 19.4 thousand tons of gluten, 11.5 thousand tons of starch and 95 thousand tons of bran. see news on the topic Volgodonsk newspaper< /a>

Commissioning of the plant LLC "Donbiotech" postponed from 2014 to the end of 2016 due to a protracted conflict with Lukoil-Rostovenergo regarding the connection to the capacities of the Volgodonskaya CHPP.  related link

In the spring of 2015, the Industrial Information Agency, in the interests of Evonik, carried out activities to identify sources of raw materials and study ways to sell some processed products.

By mid-2015, 70% of the equipment was purchased, and the installation of buildings is being completed.

The price situation in 2015 helped to improve the performance of the project: when the project started, the price was less than € per 1 kg, and in 2015 it reached - 1.4 euros. The increase in prices is due to the cancellation of subsidies to lysine producers

in China.

Lysine has export potential – 1 kg of lysine replaces 70 kg of wheat in feed production, it is in demand in the developing markets of Asia and the Middle East, primarily in Turkey and Iran.  see. link on the website of the newspaper "Vedomosti"
